For Maria Cristina Faria Teixeira, the XXIX Congress of the Portuguese Orthodontic Society (SPO) is “a congress that promotes scientific updating and clinical training. For this very reason, we adapted the congress theme – Orthodontics: the power of choice”.
In this event, according to the chair of the organizing committee, the orthodontist has the ‘power of choice’ of the technique(s) to be defined in their patient’s treatment plan. This decision-making must be ethical and meet the needs of the patient.”
The SPO Congress also aims to “create a debate on contemporary challenges and the transition of the different techniques already underway, contributing to the clarification and progress of orthodontics in Portugal”.
According to the organizer, “this is a highly significant and long-standing conference organized by the SPO, already regarded as the premier event for scientific updates.”
“The panel of speakers includes leading figures in national and international orthodontics in their respective fields of research, specialization, and teaching.”
The XXIX SPO Congress will take place between October 26 and 28 at the Tagus Park Congress Center in Lisbon.
