Oral Hygiene
Oral Hygiene is the branch of dentistry that deals with the removal of plaque and tartar, the removal of pigments and stains, dental polishing as well as daily oral hygiene.
Do you know why Oral Hygiene is important?
Oral hygiene aims at preventing teeth and gums pathologies and promoting good health.
The origin of the main diseases of the oral cavity (caries, gingivitis and periodontitis) is related to the accumulation of bacterial plaque and tartar in the oral cavity.
Removing plaque can be very challenging.
Incorrect or ineffective brushing techniques allow for biofilm aggregation (bacteria accumulation), undetectable to patients when they look in the mirror.
Consequently, if the biofilm is not properly identified and eliminated by a qualified professional, it will continue to cause damage and potentiate oral diseases.
